Saltwater Salmon Fishing - Vancouver Island

Campbell River, BC is well known for exciting Salmon fishing and wears the title of "Salmon Fishing Capital of the World" with pride. It just takes a short 15 - 45 minute cruise from the Campbell River dock to put you in the middle of the local salmon fishing action.

An experienced fishing guide, Harry MacDonald, is usually found either right in the middle of the hottest fishing or positioning his anglers at the next hot spot where they are often first on the scene. This is where fishing experience pays off big time and it is also why many of Harry's clients/friends return to Campbell River to go fishing with him year after year!

Year Round Fishing!
Although Campbell River, Vancouver Island has great year-round Chinook fishing, the most exciting salmon fishing starts in June and runs through to October when migratory surges of all five species of Salmon: Coho, Pink, Sockeye, Chum and Chinook (including the legendary trophy Tyee - a Chinook salmon of 30 lbs. or more) travel and feed in the waters around Campbell River. Have a look at our Fishing Calendar for more information.

Great boat, great scenery! During your Mid Island Fishing Charters fishing trip you will be encouraged to relax and enjoy the spectacular scenic backdrop of the sheltered waters of the Discovery Passage while you fish in a comfortable 23' Sunbird walk-around covered cruiser with washroom facilities. Hourly or daily rates available, check out our Rates & Packages.

There is more than just Salmon in the sea! You can also drop your fishing line for rockfish, lingcod and the occasional halibut. The prawning and crabbing is great fun too!
